- The Solid project is a movement to build a world in which individuals -- and organizations -- have complete control of their data. The sold architecture adds more standards to he existing web: Global single sign in (webids), global access control (with WAC and ACP), and a universal API for fast reads and writes to and from Solid stores. Solid stores are called pods. You can have one or a few, just as you may have more than one email address. The servers just store and protect data but do not know anything about which app is using them to store what. This is the profile of the Solid Project itself.
