- Dynamic loading of modules -- panes, views, etc as a function of the user's preferences. Possibly also as a function of the data publisher's recommendations, to allow people to publish domain data and supply SolidOS modules for interacting with it. This obviously needs to be covered with a trust system, such as recording and checking the hash of modules when listing them, and checking public key signatures of developers.

- Client-side encryption is essential for if you want to remove the need to trust their pod provider. This is easy to do in principle. The challenge tends to be key management. For one person, how do I store my keys? For a group, how do I share them securely? It may be good to first build specific apps, like password vaults, which are used by just one person and not shared, to make key management easier. Note if you leave an encrypted file in your pod, an easy attack is to brute force attack by trying all the combinations, if your key is short like a PIN. So keys have to be big. This is just like leaving app-encrypted file in your pod, like encrypted PDFs.

- The ability to efficiently change a small part of a linked data web. Solid uses a PATCH with as payload subset of SPARQL Update protocol, has now moved to N3Patch, which allows a statements to be deleted or inserted or both. When something to be changed involves blank nodes, then the client generates a WHERE clause to identify them using nearby ars in the graph. Solid also relies on the ability use a triple in a solid resource as a semaphore, for coordinating concurrent ediitng by different parties. It requires a 409 conflict response when the user tries to delete a triple which does not exist. This is currently still not resolved with the SPARQL group as they specify deletes to fail silently.

For the best level, two-way synch. The solid shapes should be compatible with the SolidOS contacts pane. See the relevant shapes. This requirement will be met, we imagine, but a set of tools for different platforms, possibly including native apps and command line apps.

- Issue trackers occur in many forms: todo-lists, shopping lists, software project bug trackers, jira boards and so on. The Solid world should be able to make an issue tracker about anything, from the from Development Goals to corporate objectives to ephemeral lists of things ti do in a given hour. Aggregation between different tasks could be valuable, like "show me all the things I assigned to do across all my life" as part of my dashboard.

- Research, prototype, and test a technology for real-time group collaborative editing of structured web resources, securely, and respecting privacy. Achieve this by combining Solid, a specification that lets people store their data securely in decentralised data stores, and m-ld, a technology for real-time information sharing. These technologies share a common data representation, making the combination natural and harmonious. Solid will provide for Identity, Authentication, Authorisation and server storage of resources, while m-ld will provide real-time synchronisation of resource replicas, including locally on devices. Benefits to users of apps built with this innovation would include the ability to collaborate on documents in real-time, the ability to work offline, and greater performance and resilience of the app, so that they are always able to continue acting on information.
