opal Description This project is to help digital libraries provide some level of effective automated help desk support outside office hours. The project will put in place and evaluate the helpfulness of a model autonomous help desk support system, which will recognise frequently asked questions when they are asked out of office hours, and will provide the enquirer with help immediately it is needed. The project is being run by the Open University Library and the Knowledge Media Institute, in partnership with Birkbeck College and Leicester University.
