biography |
<p>My interests lie in trace element and isotope geochemistry applied to understanding
igneous rocks and their source regions. My work has focussed on the African Rift and
Western USA, and dealt with problems associated with mantle plumes and their interaction
with the continental lithosphere. I over see the running of the ICPMS trace element
laboratory in the Department which is currently engaged in a wide range of projects
associated with the Earth and space science.</p><p>From 2008 to 2011 I was Head of
Department and since January 2012 I am the Science Programme Director
(Associate Dean for Curriculum and Qualifications).</p><p>I am an active member of
the Geological Society having served as a member of Council and Publications Secretary
from 2005– 2009 and I currently chair the Education Committee. I
am also a member of the NERC peer review college and a Core Member of Panel A.</p> |
